Story 6 | Simulizi 6

When I first got my period, I informed my mother. I was 13 and she didn’t explain much, but I had already studied the concept in Health class at school. Even then, I wasn’t ready for those cramps! XD

I was 11 when I first found out about sex, but it was too late by the time my mother broached the topic. She described it in great detail but I already knew, so I simply stared back in amusement. If only she had known… The sole difference between what she told me and what I’d heard elsewhere was that this talk was more serious in nature.

When it comes to teaching the next generation about reproductive health, I think I’ll talk to them openly and without shame.

Nilipovunja ungo, nilimuarifu mama yangu.
